Brief Description of Event:
The Department of Prosthodontics organized various academic , co-curricular , extracurricular events to commemorate “World Prosthodontist Day- 22nd January”. This day is special as it celebrates the specialized branch of prosthodontics to create awareness amongst people and to acknowledge the contribution of Prosthodontists in creating healthy lives and pleasing smiles.
On this day different activities, games ,competition were conducted by the Prosthodontics department.
- On 19th of Jan’24 , a laminate preparation competition was organised for the PG students of prosthodontics in the PG clinic of the department which had 17 PG students as participants. The winner of this event was Dr. Akanksha , PG student I year. She was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Dr. Swati Gupta (Prof and Head)
- On 22nd of jan’24 , a webinar was conducted by the department at 9.00 am(IST) by speaker , a BBDCODS alumni , Dr.Kushaldeep.The topic of the webinar was ” Restorative treatments for the edentulous arch- fixed vs removable”. She is an American board certified Prosthodontist. The webinar was attended by 33 participants.

- Debate competition : The topic of the event was “Is Chat GPT – A boon or bane in academic spaces”. There were 8 teams from various departments of the college. It was an excellent interactive session as not only judges but participants and the audiences participated and expressed their views on the topic with full enthusiasm.

- A best organised PG chamber competition was also conducted in the department. The competition was supervised by respective Prosthodontic department staff and Dr. Shweta Singh, Dr. Anjali , Dr. Sobia were invited as experts for PG chamber decoration event. The efforts of all the students were appreciated.
The winners were Dr.Naina, Dr. Prithu and Dr.Priyanshi and Dr. Sanjana.
The event concluded with cake cutting by the PG students, distribution of certificates to the winners and some games which were organised by the students.
